PROGRAMME

"Competitiveness at the Edge"

The "Competitiveness at the Edge" programme is an energising, inspiring conference full of new ideas, new contacts, discussion and debate. At the conference, you'll find new solutions to practical problems with examples from across the world.

We'll be releasing the full programme with over 40 presenters in early September. the draft programme gives you an idea of how the four topics will be presented over the week - looking at open economies competing globally, regional and urban competitiveness, innovation systems and cluster development and the internationalisation of firms.

A choice of three cluster-tours on day one will give you an insight into New Zealand sectors of significance. Day two will focus on the New Zealand economy, indigenous economies and Clusters 101.
Day three to five will be a full programme of keynote plenaries, parallel workshops and plenty of networking time.

The four conference themes:

1.  Competitive advantage of countries and regions: how do small open economies compete?
2.  Regional and urban competitiveness: creativity and innovative drivers of urban competitiveness
3.  New Thinking: Innovation systems and sustainable business models
4.  Growing the eco-system of internationalising firms

For New Zealand delegates, the programme will provide plenty of opportunity to discuss, debate and learn from international experts who have delivered on innovative strategies and are influencing competitiveness across the firms, cities, regions and countries around the world.
